Garden Views

Hello everyone,
It is April already and although I am sharing some different views of our garden in all it's glory I have to confess it is still mostly shades of brown right now so not exactly photogenic just yet. The only blooms I have right now are a few snowdrops.

So I am taking you on a little tour of the garden last year.

This hillside garden will soon be covered with the cheery blooms of hundreds of daffodils but here in August the daylillies steal the show. The steps in the hillside garden are old Island sandstone that were used in the foundation of my daughters old home.
I am looking forward to color in the garden again.

My husband built this arbor many years ago.
The August garden- our most colorful month.

A shot taken from our balcony- facing south.

Also shot from the balcony but facing west.

My new camera takes video as well, so this summer I am looking forward to doing some videos and hopefully I can figure out how to put one on my blog someday.

Just a few random shots of some of our garden last year-hope you enjoy them!

Thank you for visiting me.

Carolyn

Happy Sunday and highlights from an early morning walk.

Hi there. Well, my day yesterday did not turn out exactly as I would have hoped, ended up getting a migraine which became full blown by around 4 or 5 and off to bed I went after taking my medication which totally zonked me out. I slept until this morning....missing the party, my husband and oldest son went however. I woke up definitely feeling better, THANKFULLY, I would say about 90% which I will happily take and decided on an early morning walk with my faithful companion, Teddy in tow to lead the way. It was an overcast morning but that didn't stop me from taking some pictures of things just starting to bloom and enjoying being headache free and out and about to enjoy all the pretty nature ushering in a new season, confused as it might be! So here are a few highlights......

The "master" meditating!
Deciding if he up for a walk or not......
Cherry blossoms a little confused, just started blooming (no worries electrical boxes soon to be covered)

Part of the old house....love these old planters and pedestals
Gorgeous daffodils still going strong.....

The old pond which we will restore at some point

Even love the old benches.....just as they are

And the old fountain

Teddy on the prowl....
We have many stashes of wood for next winter, used almost none this winter with the mild temps!
A hook mark from a deer......

Such a handsome little devil!

I have a thing for moss covered anything.......

Stubborn Teddy telling me hes ready to go inside and lounge...his morning nap is long overdue!

A final few minutes of meditation.....

And a few thank you's to my blogging friends for current posts about my products and my online store! Thank you all so very much, means a lot....stop by and visit them if you have a minute! (click on header to visit)

Hoping everyone has a relaxing and wonderful Sunday!

Busy As A Bee

I will be busy as a bee these next few days.

So, I am taking a short blog break to get everything done.  Be back in a few days.  When I come back I have a surprise :-)

Garden Inspiration: Great Gates

After a long, leisurely and fabulous Saturday lunch at Plage Keller "Le Cesar" restaurant on La Garoupe Beach, my husband and I strolled along Boulevard Gardiole Bacon. This quiet street on the peninsula, Cap d'Antibes, is lined with villas—more accurately walled gardens that obscure the villas from view. Many of the villas are Provençal style, a common design in this area of France, and quite large and luxurious. Others are Spanish Mediterranean and then there are the modern architectural styles of white boxes. I prefer the traditional styles.

I love garden gates. Even the driveways have gates, and some of those are inspiring. Come along on a stroll down that boulevard as we walked back to Antibes, a distance of about four kilometers, depending upon how many  detours we make to snap photos along the way. You see, we justify all the eating by walking!
